Recently I have encountered an issue where I have been unable to assign a phone number to a resource account via the Microsoft Teams Admin Center like below.
The account is licensed with a Phone System – Virtual User license and has been provisioned in Teams, no matter what I try it won’t populate the list to assign a number, so I decided to try with powershell.
- First connect to Skype for Business Online (SFBO) PowerShell module ( Yes I know we are using Teams, however we need the SFBO powershell module to manage these endpoints 🙂 )
- Run -> Get-CsOnlineApplicationInstance
- Run -> Set-CsOnlineVoiceApplicationInstance -Identity “OBJECT ID FROM STEP 1” -TelephoneNumber “+1TELEPHONENUMBER”
Hi Hab, step 4, should it not be Set-CsOnlineApplicaionInstance ?
Hey Paul good to hear from ya mate, I believe the Set-CSOnlineApplicationInstance is used for Direct Routing where as Set-CSOnlineVoiceApplicationInstance is for MS Calling plans.
