Teams Mobile Client – Phone System Calling

On Jan 17, 2018 Microsoft pushed out the ability of the Teams client to make Phone System calls version 1.0.29.

The is the first step to getting the Teams client to feature parity with the Skype for Business client, there isn’t much options in the current client as Skype for Business but in time it will get there. So lets dig a little deeper.

First we have the Teams Call Tab, you can see your:

  • Call History
  • Select a Contact to call from the address book
  • Use the Dial Pad to make a call

So i’ll make a call to my conference bridge, the In-Call progress icons light up:

  • Mute
  • Speaker Phone
  • Hang up

Once the conferencing service answers you can see the In-Call options:

  • Mute
  • Dial Pad
  • Speaker
  • Additional Options
  • Hang Up

Finally we select the Additional Options:

  • We have the option to place the Call On Hold

These are the basic calling options in Teams for iOS, as the client matures i’m sure we will see the additional options that are included in Skype for Business.
