Environment:
Windows Server 2012 R2
Lync Server 2013
Issue:
Client called with an issue of users complaining that any conference they join scheduled or ad-hoc are failing, with a generic message or “An error has occurred”
Resolution:
We opened the Event Viewer and found that it was riddled with errors
- Event ID 32042 LS User Services
Invalid incoming HTTPS certificate
cause: This can happen if the HTTPS certificate has expired or is untrusted - Event ID 32042 LS User Services
Sending HTTPS request failed. Server functionality will be affected if messages are failing consistently. Sending the message to https://server.domain.com.com:444/LiveServer/Replication
We went through this MS Support article https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/2901554 however it didn’t work for us.
Opened up the certificate MMC to check our certificates , Start -> Certlm.msc
- Local Store -> Personal
- all certificates were valid
- Local Store -> Trust Root Certification Authority
- all root certificates were valid
- however there were intermediate certificates included in the list
- Local Store -> Intermediate Certification Authority
- all certificates were valid
I proceeded to remove the Intermediate certs from the Trusted root store and rebooted the Lync Server 2013 and the errors went away and clients were now able to connect to conferences.
What CU are they on? I believe this bug was corrected a few CU’s back for lync server 2013.
Hey Jeff they were on 1 rev back before the new CU had come out.
