Environment:
Exchange Server 2013 – On Premise
Skype for Business Server 2015 – On Premise
Surface Hub Skype for Business Version: 16.8.100.70
Issue:
We have configured our Surface Hub as per the Technet article (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/itpro/surface-hub/set-up-your-surface-hub) , we have validated our configuration with the Surface Hub Account Validation script. When we sign into the Surface Hub and try and join a conference the Surface Hub Skype for Business is stuck at a:
- Connecting to Server page
- Signing in page
Resolution:
Our Skype for Business Pool name and SIP FQDN is different than our Active Directory Domain and our Active Directory Certificate Services ie
- Pool Name: SFBPool1.domain.com
- SIP FQDN: domain.com
- Active Directory: domain.local
- Certificate Authority: domain.local
Here is how to fix the issue , on the Surface Hub do the following:
-
Press the Microsoft Log Button -> Click All apps
-
Click Settings
-
Login with an Admin Account
-
Click System
-
Click Microsoft SurFace Hub
-
Scroll down to Skype for Business , Click Add FQDN
-
You will receive a pop up window for you to enter the FQDN of the Server Certifciate
- Click Ok
-
- Reboot the Surface Hub by touching the up arrow in the bottom right hand corner.
-
The Surface Hub will load and back to the main screen click Call
- As you can see we are now signed in and able to make a phone call
So… what did you added to the FQDN? On the picture you have domain.contoso.com, but that is most likely incorrect?
I added in the actual domain of the environment, in the article i’m using domain.contoso.com just to show what should be entered.
